TES Group \u2013 Alton Towers Hotel Project<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Alton Towers Resort<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Alton Towers Resort, is a\u00a0theme park\u00a0located in\u00a0Staffordshire, England, near the village of\u00a0Alton. The resort, which is operated by\u00a0Merlin Entertainments Group<\/a> also incorporates a\u00a0water park\u00a0and\u00a0hotel complex, and is\u00a0currently the largest amusement park in the UK by area at 370 hectares.<\/p>\n

The park operates 6 major roller coasters \u2013\u00a0Nemesis,\u00a0Oblivion,\u00a0Rita,\u00a0Thirteen,\u00a0The Smiler, and\u00a0Galactica\u00a0\u2013 as well as other well-known attractions.<\/p>\n

Accommodation Development<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The first hotel accommodation opened in 1996 as the Alton Towers Hotel. The hotel is currently four star and has 180 rooms. This hotel was the first phase in a plan to turn the theme park into a multi-day resort and the beginning of the resorts huge popularity & growth.<\/p>\n

In 2003 the resort created additional accommodation in the way of The Splash Landings Hotel, which has 216 rooms, with a choice of six room types, and is also four star rated.<\/p>\n

In 2015 another accommodation offering was opened to the public. Now well known as the Enchanted Village, which features 120 individual lodges, and 5 secluded tree houses. The Village is set in the Enchanted Forest<\/em>\u00a0woodland, right next to the original Alton Towers Hotel.<\/p>\n

Alton Towers Hotel Extension<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Although plans have been submitted to extend & update many areas of the park and accommodation properties, including the enchanted village, Alton Towers most recently undertook a very impressive 4 floor extension project to the existing\/original Alton Towers Hotel<\/a> <\/span><\/strong>complex. The new extension will provide unique and themed additional accommodation for visitors of the Alton Towers Theme Park.<\/p>\n

The extension will see an additional 76 rooms created, 42 of which will be standard rooms themed to the CBeebies Bugbies, and another 34 premium rooms themed to different CBeebies shows, such as Something Special<\/em> and Swashbuckle<\/em>. The rooms will feature many child friendly features, including steps up to the sink and children\u2019s toilet seats.<\/p>\n

The hotel extension will also feature a restaurant, caf\u00e9, bar and entertainment area. The hotel \/ extension is set to open on the 1st<\/sup> July 2017, and it\u2019s estimated that approximately 80-100 new jobs will be created as a result.<\/p>\n

TES Group | <\/strong>Contract Specifications<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The TES Group were awarded the contract to manufacture, supply and install the new LV distribution for the extension of the Alton Towers Hotel. As stated the project extension includes the addition of 76 new hotel rooms, a restaurant, bar, caf\u00e9, and entertainment area, all on site. The Contract Works included:<\/p>\n
