Water should always be treated as a valuable resource and never wasted but in current weather it is more important than ever to conserve water as much as possible. There are a number of ways that you can reduce water usage including the below;<\/p>\n<p>Indoors<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have a shower instead of a bath.<\/li>\n<li>Take shorter showers.<\/li>\n<li>Never use your toilet as a bin.<\/li>\n<li>Turn off the water while brushing your teeth or shaving.<\/li>\n<li>Rinse vegetables in a full sink or pan of water.<\/li>\n<li>Fully load your dishwasher.<\/li>\n<li>Rinse dishes in a full sink or pan of water.<\/li>\n<li>Wash full loads of clothes.<\/li>\n<li>Check all pipes, toilets and faucets for leaks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Outdoors<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Don&#8217;t over-water shrubs and flowers.<\/li>\n<li>Use a watering can with water-saving rose fitted<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t water on cool, rainy or windy days.<\/li>\n<li>Place mulch around plants to reduce evaporation and discourage weeds.<\/li>\n<li>Set your mower blades one notch higher, since longer grass means less evaporation.<\/li>\n<li>Use a bucket instead of a hose to wash your car.<\/li>\n<li>Use a brush \/ broom rather than a hose to clean footpaths, driveways etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We recommend that you keep up to date with your local water authority via their website or social media account for updates about the current water supply in your area.
