{"id":6189,"date":"2020-11-30T15:12:13","date_gmt":"2020-11-30T15:12:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/s313789864.websitehome.co.uk\/?p=6189"},"modified":"2020-12-16T10:45:44","modified_gmt":"2020-12-16T10:45:44","slug":"tes-consortium-announce-major-project-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/s313789864.websitehome.co.uk\/?p=6189","title":{"rendered":"TES Consortium Announce Major Project Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Celtic Anglian Water, Farrans &amp; TES (FaCT3 Consortium) have secured the first of four major upgrade contracts to enhance the level of treatment in the existing secondary treatment tanks at the Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Plant serving the greater Dublin area.<\/p>\n<p>Celtic Anglian Water, the existing operator of the Ringsend WwTP, will work with established partners Farrans Construction &amp; TES to upgrade the existing secondary treatment stage at the Ringsend plant, which will include the upgrade of the existing 24 secondary treatment tanks to enhance capacity. The upgrade will retrofit advanced process treatment technology into the secondary treatment stage providing an enhanced level of treatment within the existing infrastructure<\/p>\n<p>This is the first of four contracts to retrofit the secondary treatment tanks at the plant with Aerobic Granular Sludge (AGS) Technology.\u00a0 Works on this contract have commenced and will take approximately 12 months to complete.<\/p>\n<p>Since the existing Wastewater Treatment Plant at Ringsend was commissioned in 2005, the biological and hydraulic loads to the Plant have increased steadily.\u00a0 The major upgrade that is now underway by Irish Water will allow the Ringsend WwTP to treat the increasing volumes of wastewater arriving at the plant to the required standard, enabling future housing and commercial development. The overall project will deliver, on a phased basis, the capacity to treat the wastewater for a population equivalent of 2.4 million while achieving the standards of the <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/environment\/water\/water-urbanwaste\/index_en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Brian Taylor, TES Chairman said \u201cWe are delighted to be awarded this high profile and critically important project by Irish Water.
